my hot take is that all the flags and label nonsense are bs . hard truth is that not everyone will accept lgbtq+ and all the labels will make further confusion and justification for hate. it makes makes a supposedly welcoming & inclusive community way more daunting to fit into and can put pressure on people to find a label and make them overthink things. lgbtq+ exists because not everything is b&w which is why you also shouldn't need a hyperspecific box that you can fit perfectly into, ykwim?
