imagine if pokemon had a higher age rating. I don't mean like adult like and grim, but more like something of a more modern shonnen. If the writers kept a continuous story and didn't soft reset every region and maintained the childlike sense of wonder while dealing with more mature themes and less recycled plot points it. That version of pokemon exists in my head and it's top 5 anime oat
