@connormts: Share! Kinda found a weird niche, another cat rescue. It’s becoming a thing now 🤣 I think I’ve done 7 or 8 now! Got a call from the owners having been up all night worried with their cat stuck up a tree… in that weather 🫣 ⛈️ I headed straight down to them and managed to get Loki back down on terra firma. If you don’t like seeing animals in distress, or getting manhandled. Don’t watch. Really is the only way in this scenario! Don’t come at me. Also just to add, as his owner, we were more than happy for Connor to scruff Loki to get him down safe! He was exhausted when he got home so without Connor’s help I’m not sure he would have been able to hold on for much longer!

all cat owners will know and agree. that was the best, safest and easiest way to get him down fast and securely. if you'd not scruffed him he would've gone into panic and potentially jumped or fell 👏👏 excellent work

Scruffing is 100% the correct & safest way to handle in this situation. It can trigger a natural instinct for the cat to stay still, the same way they do as kittens when a queen bites scruff & carries them about. Yes it's unpleasant for the cat but it's the lesser of 2 evils ie plummeting to it's ☠️

You've found your calling i would say.👍 Well done 👏. Amazing & fast. If it was my furbaby. I'd be really happy , with this also . Fast , efficient, no1 including yourself getting hurt. Definitely won that. 💞

This is like the English version of Duane who posts his cat rescues on here. He also scruffs them to get them into a bag, when you're that high up and it's risky you have no other choice

Update to add to this daring rescue: Loki is doing really well a day later, lots of sleep and a few rough patches on his paw pads where he was holding on for so long but other than that, our boy is happy and most importantly safe ♥️Needless to say he is on house arrest for a few days while our nerves recover! And yes, he truly does live up to both his name and his status as an orange cat 😂

Replying to @hauz.and.co DIY Backyard Pavers ~ A popular project I still get asked about, is the backyard pavers. If you didn’t already know we installed them in 2021 back when I was super fresh to posting and let me tell you half of everything I recorded is super shaky 😅. So, enjoy a mashup of everything I could find in my archive about how to install Pavers. What you need: • Pick, Mud gun & Shovel. • Rake • Wheel Barrel • Quarter Minus Gravel – 2 tons, 2” thick application. • Sand – 1 ton, 1” thick application. • Stone Pebble of your choice – 1 ton • 24” x 24” Pavers – 42 pieces to cover 224 sqft. • Compactor • 1” plastic pipes & a flat piece of wood to sit on • 2x4 wood & flat piece of wood •  Landscape Edging For the main materials used, we used a local material landscaping company called Pioneer to order & delivery everything to our door. Everything else we were able to find at Home depot and if you didn’t know you can also rent compactors there or even use a manual hand compactor, but the electric compactor is worth it for your sanity. When digging up the ground, we digged up 4”, added then 2” of Quarter minus gravel, then proceed to flatten it as much as possible. This compact will help so that the ground sets and prevents from slopes or major settling as the years go by. Then apply 1” thick of sand & use 1” poles to help guide/level out the sand while moving it across, use a flat piece of wood so you can move along without leaving imprints or leaving dents. Right after, you can add your pavers and use a 2x4 as a spacer and fill the joints with your choice of pebbles. Afterward just sweep the excess and your done! . . #backyard #backyarddesign #backyardmakeover #pavers #diyprojects #backyardprojects
