Soo basically add the ratio (2+5) to get the total ratio which 7. Multiply 42 X 2 to get 84 and then you take the 84 and divide it by 2 (84/2) to get 12mL

After I got 7 i was told to multiply 7 to find the total number. I multiply 7 by 6 and got 42 so i figure if I multiply 6 by 2 i would get 12, but your way is SOO much easier since I get all tied up 😭

would it be okay if we did 2x + 5x = 47, which makes x= 6, 12 med and 30 water? would this formula always work for this type of questions?

I simplify the ratio cause it’s 2 meds = 7mls cause they asking for the total this also mean every 1 med is 3.5mLs of total solut so 42/3.5 is 12mLs Med needed for 42mLs total solut.
