Here’s what to do! ⬇️ ✅ Pick it up by the crown (top part) — never touch the root! ✅ If dirty, rinse briefly with water — do not scrub or wipe the root, as this can damage the ligament that helps the tooth reattach ✅ If it’s not too painful, gently place the tooth back into the socket ✅ Bite on a tissue or handkerchief to hold it in place ✅ If that’s not possible, store the tooth in milk 🥛 or in saliva (inside the cheek for adults, or in a small container with saliva) ✅ Contact your dentist immediately and get there as soon as possible 😁 The ligament cells on the root surface are vital — replanting within 20 minutes ⏱️ gives the best chance of saving the tooth. 🙂 Stored in milk or saliva and replanted within 60 minutes, there’s still a reasonable chance. 😭 After 60 minutes out of the mouth, the chance of long-term survival drops significantly. 📱Save this post and follow for more dental emergency tips! #dentaltrauma #losttooth #toothout #dentist #teethadvice
