The “gods” were actually the first six dragon riders. At the time the irids lead the empyrean and THEY ARE the “magic”that demanded balance. When they found out about dragons and riders they broke the bonds (like Violet and Andarna) and the “gods”, in a last act for survival, became venin. What the “god” is known for is what their power brought for instance Malek brought death, etc. and this is why the dragons don’t believe in the gods bc they know their not gods they’re riders turned venin. Also why they don’t praise them bc they’re not good. This is all foreshadowed or confirmed by Jack saying that it’s easier for riders/fliers to turn bc they know magic. others need to be taught. the first had to be riders bc they first had know the magic from the dragons. Also proven by why venin get it from the ground bc that’s where dragons get magic from. And like dragons, venin dont go beyond the continent bc their power is limited. Just like the rest of the dragons, their magic lies in the ground/in the continent which proves that the first venin HAD to be riders bc both powers come from the same place. That’s why Theophanie wants Andarna bc she wants to learn how to pull from the sky so she’s not limited. (which makes sense bc they are driven by greed.) And that’s also why Violet can talk to Andarna and Tarin beyond the continent bc Andarna pulls from the sky and they’re all connected. Side Note: also why Violent totally wielded in the temple while fighting bc she pulls from the sky. But anyways all of this is also reinforced by Theophanie saying “why be a priestess when you can be a god?” bc the she knew the god she praised was venin. BUT I KNOW WHAT YOURE GOING TO SAY!!! “well how did Xaden wield when he was off the continent?” 1. you could say bc it was brought from the continent bc Violets ball thing (forget what it’s called) 2. YOU COULD ALSO SAY THAT ITS BC VIOLETS MAGIC WORKS ANYWHERE AND EVERYWHERE BC ITS FROM THE SKYYYYYYY AND XADEN WAS THE FIRST VENIN (😖) TO WEILD MAGIC FROM THE SKYYYYYYY BAMMM! theory = air freakin tight

V been making a lot of weird comments when she’s outside the wards like i wanna place ruins in the sky. I think lilth channeled when she was preggo with V and Asher went to look for a cure under the guise of research of the krovlen treaty & feather tails. I think he made a deal with the sketchy irids to save V thats why Andarna is drawn to her. Thats why she can’t create ruins on objects and asher tried to dedicate her to dune, why her mother was looking for a cure. She’s part venin that can steal from the sky. “you could command the sky to surrender all its power” thats why they wanted to turn Xaden first soo they can use him as a leash.

I don’t think they stole the eggs for the venin. I think they took the eggs to the 7th breed. The Irids said before they left the others because they were about war and their about peace so what if the irids are trying to rebuild the empyrean
