I always found it interesting that both Ernest and Ethel don't quite realize that they are below the poverty line, they're so greatful to be better off then their parents that they don't see beyond that🤍 Truly wonderful people

I’ve not watched this show, so not passing judgement on the show itself. period. But just sorta noticed how she was doing that washing thing & wtv it was she was doing didn’t look easy & despite that her husband kinda was just sitting there & conversing & I compared it to if it were in my home now in 2025, & my mom was doing that then my dad would without a doubt go & lend her a hand. I truly am grateful to have been brought up in a household, extended family, & community where the whole traditional wife does this, husband does this thing never existed. In mine & in my relatives & etc peoples houses it was always conquer & divide in a way. It wouldn’t just be the wife cooking & cleaning…. Instead they’d both cook together, one person handling one task while the other performed the other. It wasn’t wife serves everyone food at the table & eats last, it was, all the food is on the table in the kitchen, serve yourself & sit at the table. Whenever we had guests, it was my dad that made the tea/coffee/refreshments. When I moved abroad for college & became friends with more people who came from the opposite family/societal dynamics, & when these topics would come up I’d just be so confused & perplexed cuz it’s not that I don’t know it’s so rigid in some homes & communities but like it just can’t compute in my head. Like downloading a software meant for Windows on MacOS. It just file error.
