He’s absolutely right. If you’re not driving and you’re on private property, the RCMP have no legal authority to demand your ID without cause. It’s a clear violation of your Charter rights specifically your protection against arbitrary detention. Unless you’re being lawfully detained or arrested, you have zero obligation to identify yourself. People need to stop accepting unlawful overreach as normal.

The province.
I live in british colambia if a RCMP officer asks for your ID no matter what you have to show it to him. It's the law even if you're walking down the street. They can ask you for your I. D. Welcome to Canada.

So because he is care and control of motor vehicle, he bylaw has to provide his information. Also, this is Canada, we don’t have misdemeanors and felonies, we have indictable and summary convictions. So the fact that this guy is getting his legal advice from TikTok gives you an idea what you’re dealing with

In Ontario, they can do random roadside stops to take a breath, sample and demand license ownership and insurance. Unfortunately, this guy watched too many videos from the United States.

if the driver was in a "parked car" not doing anything, he is not legally required to show ID. However if he is driving a car, or in a car with a key in ignition, then you are required to show ID

Wow, people, simple Google search if you don’t know the law in Canada. sitting in the driver seat of a car you are required by law to provide license and registration, regardless whether you are driving or not

all police departments in Canada are completely corrupt and do not follow the letter of the law they make up their own rules as they go along until you go to court and then the judges are corrupt too in ways there's no more Justice we need to start standing up

Being suspicious is not a crime at all, and this is the reason why people don't trust cops. Anymore, they've turned crooked, they're no longer doing the job they're supposed to do

in Canada you can be arrested for causing a disturbance. Thats what this is and considering he is in care and control of a motor vehicle he must provide it so they can arrest him for obstructing.
