The Cosby Show is what Tyler Perry needs to take some cues from when it comes to Black representation

They did it through black art, black HBCU’s, black designers, black couples it was such a wonderful show.

I've never understood why people thought The Cosby Show was unrealistic. It was a regular family. Fresh Prince was more unrealistic than TheCosby Show

The way that Claire got in Vanessa’s a$$ about being late reminded me of my mom! Didn’t cuss but you felt the wrath

My dad isn’t a doctor and my mom isn’t a lawyer but we were a nuclear family middle class. I identified a lot with the cosbys and the dynamics, issues they discussed, experiences etc on the show

Umm that was more my upbringing. I can watch that show and relate. It made sense to my blackness. Some of these other shows I can’t watch literally because I cannot relate

The Cosby show was a representation of real black culture. The hill I will die on is the current culture of degeneracy is counterfeit black culture.

2 parent households, primarily black cast, no swirling in relationships. The grandparents were present, very family oriented. It’s a reason we never got a show like this again

Who thought it was black enough? Bc even those of us who didn't live like never questioned the blackness... We lived vicariously through the characters

The biggest difference between the Cosby show and other black shows is that the Cosby show, I didn't have black themes. They were just black.

The Cosby Show is iconic & hurts so much that Bill's crimes just ruined that legacy. The fact that they showed us (Im white) that the black stereotypes were just that, stereotypes.

My father was a truck driver and my mother worked for GM back in the 70/80’s and both were in the home so I could relate to the cosby show, I grew up middle class.💯✌🏿💪🏿

There’s a reason why the Cosby Show is the Michael Jackson of black tv sitcoms. It’s resonate with black families so much, why. Because it was us at its core. What people don’t understand, black people are more than their financial situation.

They were a doctor and a lawyer. Their house looked like regular house. Not everybody lives like the The Evans family.

I had a similar conversation with a guy that I went to high school with… He said he didn’t know any black family that looked like that. I said Wow, as exactly what my family looks like!!
