The icon is used to let you know the worst weather of the day. If you see rainy icons you’ll be prepared. If you see a sunny icon and there’s rain later you be upset you didn’t have the proper gear

Yes I can explain. It means 35% of the AREA will have rain. You can then scroll through hour by hour to see when and if your exact area will be affected.

The percentage does not equate to the likelihood of it raining. It will definitely rain. It’s measuring the amount of rain in that location.

As opposed to what. Saying it won’t rain that day even tho it will? What is your solution? If u wanna know what time it’ll rain then look at the times. If you wanna know what days it might rain then look at the days 🧐

Well let's look at it the opposite way. How would you feel if the icon for the whole day was sunshine, then suddenly a huge thunderstorm rolls in? It's simply to let you know at a glance that today isn't gonna be all unicorns and rainbows 👍

Meteorologist here: bc it’s a garbage automated icon that Apple invests barely any money or time into. Download a local news stations app. Those are updated regularly by real meteorologists 😊

Yeah I noticed too. Said it was going to rain two days in a row. Turns out the second day it was raining at like 1 am from the storm the previous day and it was going to be a nice sunny day that day

Would you prefer a sun icon? Then you don't think it's going to rain. See the rain icon look hourly. Sun you don't have to look hour by hour.
