@allseated.in.abarn: OVER 90 Horses Are Shipping to Slaughter Today. OVER NINETY!! Let’s that sink in. That’s not just a number. That’s ninety lives—most of them someone’s horse. Horses with names, routines, memories of their people. Horses that were dropped off this weekend by owners who thought they were going to find a good home. They thought the sale ring would bring them a second chance. But the only one bidding was the kill buyer who is more than happy to buy the horses no one else wants. They have a high demand for them. They will gladly buy up all the horses no one ‘wants’ so they can fill requests for horses at the slaughter plants in Mexico whose demands are high for horse meat. You see, horse meat is consumed in Asia and right now the demand is high. This is not a scare tactic. This is the system. This is the pipeline. This is the reality of what happens in our country when horses are seen as disposable livestock. I can’t save all 90. But I’m starting a fundraiser right now to save at least 10. At the very least. If more funds come in we will just keep helping because at the end of the day it’s about money for the Kill Pen — so we buy them, or the slaughter plants do. Ten lives that we can change, if we come together right now! If we fight hard and give it everything we have! I know this is a huge goal. I know it feels impossible. But I refuse to do nothing!
