as someone who works in retail. the clothes stay out all day, thousands of people touch them everyday. we do not wash the clothes. we fold them, fix them up. that is it. WASH THE CLOTHES BEFOFE U WEAR THEM.

This is why I wash everything used or new in stores before I wear it. My ex got ink poisoning from his new jeans for wearing them before washing them . He was in the hospital because of it

I keep a retractable soft measuring tape in my purse so I can measure clothes when thrifting. It's super helpful!

yeah No chain thrift store washes their clothes before selling them on the floor, we just pray people aren't donating their laundry loads. if it isn't coming straight from donations, we get shipped hundreds of pounds of clothes on semi trailers *from other stores* and they just get dumped on a table and sorted through for holes/stains, thrifts are genuinely a cesspool
