@charlottemorabito: #stitch with @abbiechatfield (I can’t tag bc of privacy settings.) Obviously, sometimes it is a media literacy problem. Frequently, I find that the people who say you have not been clear enough because you omitted XYZ have never actually made content and don’t understand what content does well and what content will perform poorly. But I do believe that there is a component here that is emotional. Avoiding something that makes you deeply uncomfortable is incredibly human.
I loved this take. it does feel like people lashing out. the bean soup was one comment, but it was so egregious that it changed Internet discourse..incredible

I once got told “that’s too broad, you can’t use that term like that” when I was saying it would be interesting to see how a certain research paper would apply to neurodiverse people 🫠 and they argued I was being too vague 😭 the context was the video above!

I’m currently in a 3 day debate with people as I said “X film from X production company is the only film with LGBT+ characters in it” & everyone’s saying to me “NO the author of the book which was adapted says Y is gay but it’s not in the film” OH SO YOU AGREE WITH ME.

Also sometimes the problem is not even media literacy it’s like literacy-literacy 😭

I find it's hard to find the truth/what's real whenever I consider the way the algorithms work. For instance the new "is my couch blue" trend, are all these people really colourblind or are they just engagement farming because it's the current trend. What's the split really?

Its so true, and I honestly catch myself thinking like the comment section at times cus well im human and i dont want to be uncomfortable. its important to take a mental step back and find the root of why you wanna argue about it. are you just hurt/uncomfortable or can you actually add to the convo?
