@japantrip55: Okayama Korakuen Garden is one of Japan's most celebrated landscape gardens, ranked among the country's "Three Great Gardens" alongside Kenroku-en and Kairaku-en. Located in Okayama Prefecture, it was originally constructed in 1687 by the local feudal lord as a retreat for entertainment and receiving guests. The garden features spacious lawns, serene ponds, meandering streams, and a hilltop lookout point. Unlike many traditional Japanese gardens, Korakuen incorporates open grassy areas, making it unique in its design. It also includes plum, cherry, and maple trees, tea and rice fields, an archery range, and even a crane aviary. Korakuen suffered damage from floods in 1934 and bombing during World War II, but it has been meticulously restored using historical records. Today, it remains a peaceful escape for visitors, offering a glimpse into Japan’s rich cultural heritage. #OkayamaKorakuen #KorakuenGarden #JapaneseGarden #OkayamaTrip #HistoricJapan #TravelOkayama #JapanTravel #JapanTrip #JapanCulture #JapanBucketList #JapanPhotography #ExploreJapan
