I’d rather my kid be normal and healthy so I can work a 9-5 like everyone else but it’s clearly not possible lol. I don’t see why us SEN parents get looked at to be lazy, its the hardest and most draining job with no breaks 🙃

dont gain anything from carers allowance. they give you it weekly and take it back out of your uc monthly?

If we were paid like live in carers we would be millionaires. It’s a full time job indeed 24/7 constant supervision.

They have no idea how hard it is, I get put down all the time or called lazy for not working, even if I had a job I know I would get fired bcos of my daughters SEND needs and her school constantly calling me to come get her or having meetings or going on school trips to support her

it baffles me I do night shifts every single night without a break and I get asked why I dont get a part time job when she's at school? umm because I'm not s literal robot Karen and I need to sleep at some point just like everyone else that is awake working at night 😆🫠

must be lovely to not understand how this feels to go through. Unless you’ve walked this path don’t comment.

i have been a stay at home carer, i work and care now as kids older. both ways are so hard, im handeling phone calls at work. its down to the individual care needs of each person wether you are able to work or not.

I’m a Sen mum. I’ve swapped jobs multiple times to make it work for my child and lost around 20k annually to do so. I’m lucky that work are supportive and let me take emergency leave or swap days when I get appointments. If they weren’t I wouldn’t be able to work.

I work with SEN children & it is very rewarding but exhausting some days. I get to clock off, parents don't 🙏❤️🙏.
