My appointment the psychiatrist basically just asked what my diagnosis was, how long since each diagnosis, which doctor/specialist gave me each diagnosis, and then asked me a TON of cognitive questions (like count backwards from 100 by seven and then count to 100 by three). Didn’t ask me how I manage or how I felt. Is that right?

My exam lasted an hour and I felt like we didn’t even cover half of my hardships. I wish I’d seen this video before I went because I usually do write everything down because I am afraid to say something to upset someone, I over think everything and ruminate for hours after triggering events. It’s exhausting to feel like your complaining- I just cried the whole time

Here they don't ask what you have. You do fill out a paper before seeing the doctor. Things you have to repeat because they don't get your information they just test you and send it to ssi. Mine asked questions to do with memory. math questions repeat 3 words and later tell them what those 3 words were.

I stressed I’ve been to six mental health facilities from NY to CA, and could barely open the door myself because I’m so weak. Still denied, even with 8 years of medical, and mental documentation. I feel like because I’m young, (31 at the time, now 34) I was not taken seriously, and denied. It was humiliating to sit before a judge and explain my case. He even wrote in my denial I had a mental illness that I DON’T. 😞 I felt so slighted.

I have Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder and was recommended by a medical professional I met with to get on disability. However, I CAN work a part time job, I AM reliable to show up, it’s just that I’m exhausted from being up from pain/waking up from pain/having work the day before. This makes me a bit of an unreliable worker when it comes to the work I put in. I’ve been working since I was 15 and am now almost 18. Should I still get on disability?

Mine didn’t let me talk he asked me 10 random standard questions and said we are done . He was lazy and uninterested in listening to be took me 15 months to even get to that point was immediately denied .

they sent me once in the 3 times I've applied. the doctor asked me to describe my anxiety attacks and I told her about the last one which actually sent me into a panic attack and I started crying. she just started asking me math questions right after and ended the interview

@meaganthemisfit: I truthfully answered every question during my exam with these same exact answers you’re saying and they still denied me. My mental illnesses are full on debilitating. I don’t understand how someone who hasn’t suffered from any of these disabilities has the power to tell me I’m not “sick enough to not be able to work” 🥲

breaking down in my hearing with simple questions is what i think won my case. I had a very good advocate lawyer and a judge with alot of patience.

I have one of these coming next month and it has me a nervous wreck! I have several medical conditions going on and it has all made already existing anxiety so much worse! I cry every time I go to a doctor bc it has me so anxious and depressed

They said I was a shoe-end and that I had Major depressive disorder, PTSD and casebook agoraphobia. The judge did ask the “would you be willing to amend your onsent date” but they did not help

I was denied by the judge and I had two of the state Psychiatrist favor me to be onSSD not to mention my own that I had for three years and three different therapist all agree on my depression and anxiety. I was told my judge denies approval like 80% of the people. And that was just mental. I have so many physical things also. I wonder if I did have a different judge if I would’ve been approved already.

What about applying as a parent? I don’t do everything I have my fiancé and he’s awesome about helping with our toddler. I am also in the process of being diagnosed with POTS and Autism.
