Discretionary technical strategy maybe, but I've found that applying machine learning to price charts is ineffective too. There's another side where the info isn't in a form you can digitally test and train on. At which point you have to wonder if the edge is really the info.

the problem is black swan events. ML is essence is not a brain, but rather a super, highly efficient, statically machine. it's more efficient than the human brain in pattern recognition. markets don't have patterns, so you can't find something that is not there.

AI can’t replicate it, I already tried and paid a team to code my strategy. AI can’t experience emotions or have subjective feelings, when trading keeping calm is essential but emotions also play a role and that can’t be replicated. I performed 3477,667% better compared to the IA within a month.
