I have dental insurance… and no I’m not upset when it doesn’t cover it because I know there’s really no great dental insurance. I guess I’m just happy to get my “free” cleanings and X-rays (that I pay for) lol

If I’m paying for insurance I want like 80 % to be covered which I know probably isn’t realistic so I just say I’m here already here’s my 💳

Dental insurance is likely the biggest driver of why dentistry is broken for providers and patients. Reimbursement rates haven’t increased, which means providers can’t stay independent which means private equity is taking over steadily (collection goals, pushing treatment on patients, burned out clinical teams). Those who do stay independent would rather go out of network, which makes care inaccessible. For patients, it’s confusing/frustrating and candidly doesn’t save as money as they think it does.
