So this is in Tyler, Texas. In the state of Texas a volunteer firefighter can not have blue lights on their POV. They may have red that alternate flash, must be in the front and back and visible from a minimum of 500 feet in normal daylight.

The biggest red flag is the "Volunteer firefighter" saying he doesn't have any proof he is. EVERY vollie firefighter has a FD hat or a "I fight what you fear" shirt on them at all times.

Red and blue lights are only allowed for law enforcement in most justudictions. You can technically have them installed on your vehicle but they must be mounted in such a way that they cannot be activated while sitting in the drivers seat. So wired to the trunk where you have to get out and activate them would fly but I general you are gonna get some serious static running red and blues even legally.

Former Dive team ast. Chief here. We ran blue strobe lights in our windshield. We had ID’s. We also had small stickers on the front and back windows. Local and state police agencies were notified of make and model of vehicles. Never had any issues.
