The ḥadīth isn’t about forcing women, it warns against cold, spiteful refusal, not emotional exhaustion or discomfort. Islam values consent, love, and mercy. Intimacy isn’t worship if it feels like harm. The Prophet ﷺ never forced anyone.

Scholars keep quoting that hadith but no where in that hadith does it say that a man can force himself on his wife if she refuses intimacy, only that the angels will curse her if it’s without a valid reason, but the catch is that only Allah knows what’s in her heart and can judge the validity of her refusal. In essence, men are categorically not allowed to force their wives into intimacy in Islam.
