@kkfnews: Santino Burrola says he was stunned when he was told he was fired from the King Soopers store in Arapahoe County, Colorado. He recorded three alleged shoplifters stealing $500 worth of laundry detergent from his employer's store. As the suspects try to drive off, Burrola tears away the foil covering the license plate. That action directly led to the arrest of the driver. a security guard is just a breathing alarm system. all ur supposed to do is call the cops, and scare ppl with ur presence. they even recommend a book to put info on. im assuming the phone is the book. he definitely did the right thing and should sue

They tell employees not to intervene because of potential injuries and lawsuits. But they also may lose their insurance which has extremely strict 'non-confrontational loss prevention' guidelines. It's crazy but there's legal and financial risk/reward reasons that make more sense to let the thief go, unfortunately.
