I hate the “turn right to go left” bc I makes no sense to a lot of people. Instead I tell them, if you’re going left, push your left handle forward and you’ll countersteer. If you’re going right, push your right handle forward. It’s often easier to understand that way

They really need to stop saying it that way. They should instead say “prior to turning left, you momentarily turn right and then left pretending that you are driving around an invisible tiny obstacle on the road shifting your weight to go left” as on a bicycle but it’s subconscious you don’t even realize it because it feels right

😭Iv been riding 6 plus yrs and this still confuses me, Im thinking when Im leaning to the left to stay centred on the bike my body leans left but I drop my right hip and push the left handle for a second and the bike drops to the right, is this what they mean?
