The diesel is injected into the cylinder at 3000 psi so it’s a vapor that initially causes the combustion

The fuel acts as an upper cylinder lubricant as opposed to gasoline which acts as a detergent.

Diesels use MAF air sensor , Trim codes for injectors , Humidity sensors , manifold pressure/temperature Sensors, intake air temp , calculated fuel flow, , exhaust pulse sensor, Doc temp sender, Nox sensors and cylinder pulse calculations —- all which can vary fueling from 25% Rich to Lean without logging a fault from a known value
