I have diabetic retinopathy due to not looking after myself as a teenager and I USED to have to get injections in my right eye every 6-8 weeks in my early 30s... I'm 37 now and the last one was over 5 years ago. I just want you to know that it can get better ☺️

I also have diabetic retinopathy. I had multiple infections in both eyes along with laser treatments. Unfortunately I had to have two detached retina surgeries in my right eye, and then one in my left eye. It’s been a long 3 years but I can finally see out of both eyes again. It’s not 100% like I used to be but it’s better than it was when they detached. Stay strong , it will get better. It just takes time and proper management helps as well

Hey! Ive had 52 injections in my right eye and 72 in my left eye, 4 surgeries in my left and 2 in my right. 16 lasers in my right and 12 in my left from 2012 to 2016. Since 2016 my vision not only has restored it stays stable for the past 9years! Zero bleeds, no floaters no vision issues. I totally understand you! I promise it will get better it just takes so much time. I'm 34 and the 4 years of treatment was the roughest part of my life. You can over come this! Ive even jad 3 almost 4 (due in September) since my treatments and my eyes will stay stable! it gets better, it does!

So sorry honey. Had laser on both my eyes for the second time yesterday and was told I can no longer lift weights in the gym for fear of bleeds. I'm devastated and I hate this disease. Sending you love 🥰

Hey, I have diabetic retinopathy too and also maculopathy which has affected my vision a lot too. I've been getting injections in my eyes for quite a few months & my eyes are stable now thank God but still getting "maintenance" injections. I find the way it impairs my vision so frustrating - praying my eyes stay stable. I'm sending you healing vibes & here if you want to chat. I feel you girlie💗

I’m so sorry! I’ve had 16 injections in one, and so far only laser in the other. The fear every single time of going blind. Have the people that love you around you and have a great 30th birthday, it’s the least you deserve putting up with this disease 💙

Oh honey, I feel this pain so much. I've had many injections over the years and though some of them have small blood spots, some are zombie level bloody. It's so incredibly frustrating. 😔 I'm sorry.

I feel your pain I lost the sight in my left eye i now have a cataract in it which they won’t remove as they said it’s cosmetic as I have no vision in it!
