Who ever says it needs a p-trap needs to learn that a gas unit has positive pressure. An electric unit has negative pressure. which is why it’s not necessary to add a p-trap on a gas unit you add a ptrap on an air handler 🤦🏻‍♂️😂

Don’t need a trap, because the coil is on the positive side of pressure. If it were an air handler, you need a trap. I usually put a clean out tee and a vent tee though, in an attic.

I don't have a float switch in my pan. but i have 2 drains. the main drains out back of the house into the rain gutter drain. the secondary drains to front of the house by the front door. so if you see water dripping by the front door you know there's a problem 😁.

I run the drain to the pain in out to a carport or porch where if they see it dripping, they know to call someone.
