@esther.perepechkin: You can deliver a breech baby vaginally. Many people do it. The reason it’s considered “dangerous” is because medical professionals are not trained. Which is bizarre, since it happens frequently enough. They should be. #breechbaby#breechbirth#birth
Do you realize how difficult it is to get trained in breech deliveries? It’s very easy for you to come on a platform like this and say it’s due to “unskilled providers” but please look into training institutions and why it may be difficult to get trained in this. Thank you!

Literally know someone who lost her baby breech in an ambulance. Even with the ob doing everything she could on that ride to the hospital, that baby died. She was 10cm and the baby came out breech halfway and then her cervix clamped down on the baby and it ended up strangled from the umbilical cord. It was super traumatic for everyone involved. I hope this story saves a life.

Ok- it's not for money that ob providers do c-sections for breech babies. It is because of head entrapment and many providers are not skilled to do the delivery. Can it be done yes- does it always go well no.

I’m cool with a planned c-section. My doctor would do whatever I’d want but I’m choosing for him to come out the sunroof lol.

My dad delivered over 4000 babies. He did them all the time. This was when docs actually knew how to deliver them correctly

A woman in my hometown lost her baby due to this. She insisted she could do it. Baby was even in best breech position and the head got stuck inside. The problem is that little to no professional is trained in breech babies anymore

I was always taught it’s a risk for asphyxiation because the cervix can start closing on the neck

So it is actually going to be a problem when you don’t have an experienced provider to deliver or feel comfortable del breech bc no one teaches it any more.

I would rather have a c section than deliver a baby with a dr that didn’t know how to deliver a breech baby. If the dr was trained & felt comfortable, that’s different.

You’re right. Doctors and nurses were trained in breech delivery and delivered breech babies safely until the 70s when they replaced births with c sections.

It definitely is when the majority of people don’t have access to a doctor that performs breech deliveries

I’d rather have a c section than a 4th degree and/or dead baby! Safety first! Do NOT listen to this lady. Can it be done? Yes. Is it worth the risk? Not in my opinion.

I feel like they are mostly a "emergency" in the hospital in midwifery it's a variation of normal and if you've never seen a midwife flip a baby you're missing out. 5 kids born safety at home. Preach girl!!

Personal opinion but it completely depends on which type of breech. Frank breech or bottom first is considered the safest but footling breech has a higher risk.
