We didn't get optics in thr military till around 2010 or so special ops and such had them but the avg soldiers Iron sights.But learning to shoot iron sight is a must then learn to adjust your optics.

Man….ive got a $19 red dot on my pew pew and that has held zero for years and that unit has seen some stuff! Not the best but it works!

two words.... bullet drop. a 45 will drop faster than a 9.... a laser is light. it does not drop.
