If you take a shallow slice off the bottom after you cut it in half, you’ll create a much more stable base.

I’m confused by people saying it’s the same as a knife. A knife doesn’t separate it from the bottom rind like this tool does.

I use a large bread knife. They are much longer and the serrated edge does all the work as I just move the blade back and forth.
