People in japan don’t actually associate it as much with gangs anymore but there are still some more traditional bath houses that don’t allow tattoos

im heavily tattooed, no possibility to cover them all as theres so many and was not allowed into multiple places when I was in Japan, even refused into the pool and onsen at the 5 star hotel we paid €750 per night to stay in 😫😫

went to Japan, i have a full tattoo sleeve....no issues (I didn't try and onsen, I knew they don't allow tattoos in most ) LOVED Japan, amazing people & experience

Tattoos were actually a massive past of Japanese culture historically and some Samurai even had them. It’s only over the past 75 years or so that they’ve been associated with Yakuza
