I can think of 10 different ways he could e deescalated this and got the results he wanted, but he was more concerned with making sure she knew he had the control and power . Let his ego get in the way and as a result the situation became ten times more tense and difficult than it needed to be. Giving her just a basic sense of respect and control goes a long way. This is a foster kid who’s alone and angry and scared who the system just threw out.
