@thedermspecs: Jokes aside, Benito, Jake and Mary Beth aren’t wrong, MOST people have been exposed at one time or another to HSV. Antibodies reliably predict exposure to HSV, however do not necessarily mean you actively get outbreaks. And to make things more confusing occasionally HSV-2 will decide to take root around the mouth and 1 around the genitals. TLDR - its common, its easy to treat, and its not a big deal! No need to overcompensate for HSV just walk-in to your derm for a proper treatment plan to keep symptoms at bay.
