I think this is a trauma response to being so ill as a child similar to how the mind can block out painful memories. The walk in memory could be a false memory that's a protective one maybe to block out a dangerous memory. She had being sensitive as a child and this believe helped her develop a different identity and now she is part of a community and believe system. I always consider a psychological reason first before a supernatural. Her message is good though, no harm in it. She possibly has ADHD too from some things she described about herself.
