I think the issue is Iran has an extreme Islamic govt. It would be dangeous to let such a group have nukes. If you think blowing yourself and everyone else up makes you a martyr, you shouldn’t have nukes.

Article 5 is only triggered if an attack occurs within a NATO members territory (pretty sure embassies don’t count). Iran isn’t likely to do that.
