It’s a double standard that police cars can have tint but the civilians can’t. Doesn’t seem right to me.

I've been pulled over 20 times in the past 2 years, I just point at my tint exception sticker on my windshield. one trooper still ran my license. he asked if it expires, doesn't even know the law but yet he's inforcing the law.

I have and will always have illegal tint on every vehicle I own. The hypocrisy of the exemption law is hilarious. I get pulled over I roll my windows down and I am very polite and respectful. I’ve gotten one tint ticket in my life and it was during a blitz they were doing in the area . 25 cops in a one mile area . Other than that never brought up

Cops don’t care they will still write you to prove the point . Last time that happened to me the officer said “idc about what you have go show the judge “ and the judge dismissed it within 5 mins cause I had the letter with the that the officer “didn’t care about what I had to show him “ . Judge also told me it’s a non moving violation and is a secondary offense. So I guess it’s a matter of opinion by whatever mood the laws in at the time

If you have a tint exemption in New York, the DMV provides you with a sticker to place on your window.

Maybe the system is outdated. It would be kinda cool to be able to log on to a site and upload some docs that give you guys some summarized info such as insurance, registration, driver licence on both sides. Optional but possibly save time on both sides.

Why is window tint illegal? The law cites safety reasons, yet there are exemptions for SUVs trucks and police vehicles. If it’s unsafe for a coupe or a sedan, how is it all the sudden safe for a truck SUV or a cop in the same Dodge charger that Joe next-door drives?????

Nj. Tint medical is 70% max and have a sticker on each window that shows %,date,and location installed. Also has to have documentation

I think you should be able to have window tint as dark as you want as long as you can see out of it. And I also think tht law officers shouldn't be exempt from anything.
