No actually a lot it is if we actually care, we never forget and try to hide the pain by doing that

I think it depends on the length of the relationship. Like if it was a few months then I think after a few weeks to maybe a month it’d be fine to move on

short answer: toxic masculinity. long answer is many guys run from emotions and distract themselves. even if they don't want to. also younger men get pressure from friends to hurry and move on. "best way to get over someone is to get under someone else" there are always exceptions.

Depends on the relationship and why it ended.

Nah. it takes a long time. The guys who "move on" are usually either disconnected emotionally or are just trying to keep moving forward. But a lot of guys (myself included) don't just move on & it takes lots of time.

Attachment theory, some people have child hood wounds were they don’t feel good enough.or fear of abandonment,so they push and pull and ghost or move on like you said. Cause chances are you treat it them well

If the feelings were genuine, most guys have a hard time moving on. Most men find it easier to get into another relationship instead of processing the feels. We’ll still be hurting but bury it.

It’s been 18 months and I’m still not over her. I cried myself to sleep 3 nights ago. We were together 4 and a half years and were engaged.

realistically each person has their own trauma and most men dont even know they are allowed to heal from their trauma or just ya know.. feel in general. I understand the psychology of relationships and why we are the way we are. I know too much, too many late nights studying psychology and people. too many late nights talking my frie ds through their relationships.

It depends… if it makes sense… I’ll be over it in seconds… regardless if it’s heartbreaking… life moves forward and I have to settle with that. But if I feel I can’t find reasonings to the break up… I live MONTHS in denial

So it depends on the person and the relationship. I can tell you just from my experience it takes a long time to overcome a relationship ending especially if it’s been long term and there are deep feelings. However when it ends I really don’t want to sit and focus in that negativity cause anxiety and depression can overwhelm with those feelings and cause it to worsen. So me personally I’ll try to either find maybe someone to vibe with or bury myself in my hobbies to hide the pain and distract from those feelings. Probably not the most healthy way to deal with but yeah 😅

Its kind of been the opposite experience for me; 1st serious relationship that was an on-again/off-again thing for 8-9 years, it took me about 5 before I was ready to move on; the 2nd one was not quite 2 years long but 16 years later and I'm still not sure if I'm over her or not; its been 8-9 years since I even tried dating too.

It all varies from guy to guy. Not all are the same. Some guys usually are real quick to push it out of their mind and get distracted by other things and move on quickly. Some think of it like a look how manly they areby how many partners they have been with. Some others will move on quickly to the next as a distraction in there life as they are going through something or they just think thats all their good for is to be used. Some (like myself) dwell on it for a long period of time. Wondering what would all we could have done to fix it? Was i good enough at all? When did it all went wrong and for some they think about if for years, and stay single for a long time because it just seems easier for them instead of getting hurt agian. It just depends on the type of guy and how important that relationship matters to them.

Took me 2 1/2 years and the person had to start dating someone else before I could move on 🤪

Moving on and “moving on” are two different things. Took me two years to get over my lost marriage.

heartbreak is a lot like any other injury, the severity impacts the healing time. Also like physical therapy can aid in recovery. I personally wasn't okay for about 2 years after my last one. we have since gotten back together ten years later and are happily engaged.

it’s been 2 yrs and I still can’t move on. She’s the only one that showed me real love and that probably the reason why I can’t. The worse part is that I work with her and it hurts me every time I see her.
