We don’t beef, the beef is just friendly banter between bordering states. We are 2 different states but every time someone from outta town automatically assumes we are from Kansas it bothers us Missouri people, it’s just correction.

KCMO was name KC because of the trade agreement and close ties to the Great State Of Kansas. Mo just named the side Kansas City first before Kansas City KANSAS side did. Lastly a lot of Missouri people don’t realize their roots are probably actually from Kansas side because Kansas was a free state. Missouri was a slave state. Hence why true ones rep the Kansas Jayhawks also. Jayhawks come from a group of abolitionist who were against slavery. History lesson. 🤷🏾♂️

Kansas City started in Missouri before Kansas was even a state. It was named after the Kansas River. Kansas then decided to build a city on their side of the river. After a big economic boom in Kansas City. Kansas changed the name of their town to Kansas City to get a piece of what was going on in Kansas City. And it's not really split down the middle. Most of the city is on the Missouri side.
