After reading the books I'm convinced Geralt's "lack of emotions" is a choice more than something from his mutations. He seems to actively repress his emotions and eventually everyone gets tired of it. I'm sure its a mix of both the mutations and himself but it just adds another layer to his character.

This is a huge reason that I know that the world of Witcher works infinitely better with Geralt than it ever would with Ciri. Fundamentally the world they’re in and the way actual witchers like Geralt deal with it just work way better for the writing
