if I threw my child in the backyard to live in the elements and treat them in these ways, I as a parent would be in PRISON. WHY are these strangers allowed to do this? WHY are these parents allowed to trafficking their children to these places?

I’m genuinely lost at how ANY parent thinks this is a solution?! wtf is wrong with you? I would NEVER send my child to an establishment like this. They’re struggling? FIX IT AT HOME. Use therapy, doctors, hospitals, send them away like criminals? You can’t have been fifteen - I’m so sorry 😭

I am so sorry you were abused by the mental health rehabilitation system. Wilderness therapy is truly a dehumanizing, cruel, and non-therapeutic practice I would not wish on anyone. I too was sent to wilderness so I have a familiarity with your experience.

I understand that parents don't know the whole picture but the fact that those people from the program just come in the middle of the night and kidnap you should ring some bells. I would never speak to my parents again, they would be dead to me.
