As someone who read The Bear and the Nightingale without knowing what it was about beforehand you are making the right call. It painted a Christian woman as crazy and the creatures were portrayed as harmless.

Aww I’m here for this! I’m assuming some of these are no-gos because of the spiritual/magical aspect? I enjoy fantasy, but I do try to steer clear of witchy and spicy things- it can be hard, but it’s encouraging to see it’s not just me!

I had to throw away the cruel Prince entire series. Because the day I read the first Chapter I had a horrible nightmare and when I woke up and did some research I found out that Holly black wrote a book about the devil so I had to throw them out🧍🏻♀️
