If your kids are being raised with the right values, then whatever "values" they are exposed to between 10pm and 7am should not shatter the teachings from your home. They need opportunities to fail and learn themselves.

What happens when you have divorced and can’t control what your children do at the other parent house but you want to cause that’s part I’m most annoyed when goes to his dad and it’s like ugh my son isn’t allow to watch as much tv his dad lets him, or snacks he gives me , just his choice of parenting is the worst ugh smh

I'm definitely more relaxed about that stuff. I like for my kids to be exposed to a lot of different types of families and values. I think it helps them grow into their own people.

Not only values but after working in CPS for years my children will never be allowed to sleep anywhere 😅

Love how you explain it to your kids! My kids are just toddlers and I’ve been thinking about how I’m going to explain to them when they can’t go to sleepovers and this is perfect!

100% absolutely not happening. My kids have amazing beds they’ll sleep in until they move out. No one sleeps over our house either.

So it’s censorship. You are dictating what they have an access to. I, of course, am against sleepovers for my own reason, but it’s not because I want to dictate or censor what they have access to.

I understand not doing sleepovers to protect your children, but don’t you think it’s important to expose them to multiple perspectives and different types of people?

💯 For those who are saying otherwise didn’t hear about the story in Oregon where the dad set up the sleep over, then drugged her friends, one girl didn’t drink the spiked drink luckily and saved the other girls from potential SA!!!!

I interned at a prison in college, I read some shit… I only allowed sleepovers with family and trusted friends until my kid was old enough to advocate for himself and once I trusted him to make good choices and have adult conversations. I was honest with why and he never resented me.

Children don’t deserve perspective. They deserve to be coddled and hidden from a different reality

I’m a counselor and people have NO IDEA how often children are SA’d at sleepovers AND sometimes it’s child on child. You’d be SURPRISED

My sister is nine and watches grown adults acting like children online. It’s so annoying. It’s crazy that people are getting paid to act like that as a grown adult.

I’ve had a parent, that is drug addicted and alcoholic parents that my day bugs me to sleep over at their house and I had to sit down with her and tell her I didn’t trust the family shortly after 1 of their children drowned in a pond 10 miles from their house and they didn’t even know about it until their 6 year old told them sister is in the water but I can’t see her! Sorry kiddo but no your not going there
