I literally went over a year without conditioner because depression made me take shorter showers, so I only used shampoo. My hair stayed the same kind of oily it had always been, and that's actually when a lot of hair loss was happening thanks to a chronic illness. I started using conditioner again recently, and I use it all over my hair just like my shampoo. Then my hair feels better for longer. So I don't like hearing about these generalized beauty "rules" with products.
