This is affecting all of the Caribbean. Was in Cancun a few years back and this is what it looked like. It not only looks bad it smells bad too. It is dead seaweed which traps dead fish and absolutely stinks. Every day every few hours mini diggers would trundle down the beach scooping it up and a few hours later it was back. It is a massive overgrowth of Sargassum caused by climate change 🥺🥺🥺
