As someone who never drinks, ever, I doubt I would be capable of going through those field sobriety tests & passing after being involved in a serious car accident. Especially if it resulted in injuries or a fatality. The absolute panic, remorse & stress of the situation would make me a basket case. Forget about standing on one foot & counting to 100. I can’t successfully stand on one foot sober as anything without falling over. I don’t have the balance or agility to do that on my best day. Not to mention, this kid was just involved in a serious accident & could have a head injury or other injuries they don’t know about yet. Not defending his poor choice to drink 2-3 hours prior to getting behind the wheel & speeding, driving recklessly. I feel bad for him. He had a successful career ahead of him, being a medical student. But he took a life as a result of bad decisions in driving under the influence & recklessly speeding & has to face the consequences. Condolences to the family of the person who passed.
