I hate when people lie to kids about what they’re capable of. My cousins told their son he could be a pilot if he wanted to, while also putting no time into teaching him the necessary skills to actually do that. They didn’t even make him go to school.

the school I went to had to explain to a girl in a wheelchair why she couldn't be a paramedic. apparently both her parents and therapist told her for years that she could. I felt so bad she just wanted to help people. I hope she found a career that let her

an old classmate had a degenerative illness, her arms, wrists and hands were the most affected, she wanted to be an artist and animator even tho her wrist started to swole and bleed after holding a pencil for long

I've had to tell a very dear friend that the "wacky" things their parents did to them as children is actually CA and neglect. The worst thing is that it's happened thrice with three different people. The good thing is all three are in therapy now.

I worked in a call center for a telecommunications company that offered tv services.. the number of times a mom called in for certain ppv charges.. I feel like I helped get so many teenagers grounded 🤣

When i was 11 my former daycare director picked me up from school at like 8:30 am, when we got to my close all i saw was ambulances and my family on the lawn, my only question was where’s my brother, that’s when he popped out and told me ma passed in her sleep. I still wont tell them about how i called through her door for a good half hour before i took myself to school
