The agreements related to the Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura regions are mainly linked to the Sugauli Treaty (1816), which affected the border dispute between Nepal, India and the then British East India Company. This treaty was signed on BS. 1872 Mangsir 18 (March 4, 1816). Article 5 of the Sugauli Treaty considers the Kali River (Mahakali) as the border between Nepal and British India, according to which it is mentioned that the eastern part of the Kali River belongs to Nepal and the western part belongs to British India. Since the Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura regions are close to the source of the Kali River, this treaty is related to the border dispute in this region. In addition, the Nepal-India Friendship Treaty (1950) has also affected the border discussion in this region. This treaty was signed on BS. 2007 Shrawan 16 (July 31, 1950). Article 8 of this treaty mentions the abrogation of the Sugauli Treaty, but the lack of a clear definition of the Kalapani-Lipulek area remains a source of controversy. Lipulekh Agreement (2015): The trade agreement between India and China on 15 May 2015 agreed to use Lipulekh as an India-China trade route, to which Nepal did not agree. This created a major controversy in Nepal, but the date of this agreement is clearly 15 May 2015. Note: The border dispute over Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura has not been resolved yet. Nepal has been claiming the area as its own, and this issue has become a major issue in Nepal-India diplomatic talks. In 2019, Nepal released its new map, including these areas #nepalireels #nepali #asia #mulbasinews #india @Ilamy Maila
