The “If I didn’t like you then why would I be here” is an awful and lazy response. Many people stay with people they don’t like either because it’s comfortable, because they don’t like change, because they like being liked, or even bc they actively want to 🆎use someone. There are so many reasons. In my experience, while there are ups and downs, a spark only grows stronger when you are right for each other.

Look up the “Bird Test” small things are super important in long term relationships. My parents have been married for 26 years and have never not felt loved. You have to work at relationships and he just sounded manipulative and lazy.

He just doesn't want to be alone. I needed things with my ex fiancée even though we had set a date and paid deposits. For 2 years I told him I wasn't happy and why but nothing changed. once I was done and checked out because he made me feel like I wasn't worth his effort anymore he suddenly wanted to make an effort. 2 years of been telling him. But I was done. I managed to get my own place a few months after we split (we love as housemates during that time) but 3 weeks after me moving out he was in a new relationship. He full on kissed me goodbye the day I moved out and yet he had a new gf 3 weeks later. Also, he got with me 6 weeks after his ex-wife left him. I didn't know this when we met. I'm telling you these men just don't want to be alone.
