Saturday’s No Kings protests across the country coincided with a rare military parade in Washington, D.C. — conceptualized by Trump — to celebrate the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary. The celebration also lands on Trump’s 79th birthday, which critics argued echoes the authoritarian tradition of publicly displaying might. More than 70 No Kings demonstrations or events were planned throughout Michigan, including ones in Ferndale, Livonia, Grand Rapids, Traverse City, an Interstate 696 overpass in Roseville, a private location in Dearborn and at the state Capitol in Lansing. #detroitnews #protest
