من بذرة في فبراير إلى حصاد وفير في أكتوبر، ما شاء الله تبارك الرحمن. الكركديه في مزرعة الفجيرة البوتانيكال، بإدارة مشتل وادي دفتا، زرعناه في شهر فبراير، واليوم نقطف خيره بكميات تفرّح القلب، والحمد لله. هل تعلمون أن الكركديه من العائلة الخبازية، وهي نفس عائلة الكاكاو والبامية والقطن؟ في الفيديو أشارككم كثافة الإنتاج وطريقة فصل كبسولة البذور مع الحفاظ على الكأس الأحمر اللحمي؛ فهذا الكأس هو الجزء الذي نستخدمه لتحضير مشروب الكركديه، طازجًا أو مجففًا، ويُقدّم حارًا أو باردًا حسب الرغبة. ويحتوي على مركبات طبيعية مضادة للأكسدة، منها الأنثوسيانين الذي يمنحه لونه الأحمر الجميل. وللحصول على بذور للزراعة، نترك بعض الكبسولات على النبات الأم حتى تنضج وتجف، ثم نجمع بذورها للموسم القادم. تجربة جميلة مع نبات محب للدفء، نما معنا خلال الصيف وأكرمنا بمحصوله مع اعتدال الأجواء. متعة الزراعة أن تزرع، وتتعلّم، وتحصد، وتشارك الآخرين تجربتك. From seeds planted in February to an abundant harvest in October—Alhamdulillah. Our roselle at Fujairah Botanical Farm, managed by Wadi Dafta Plantation, has rewarded us with a wonderful harvest. Did you know that roselle belongs to the Malvaceae family, alongside cacao, okra and cotton? In this video, I share the abundant crop and show how we remove the seed capsule while keeping the fleshy red calyx intact. The calyx is used fresh or dried to prepare hibiscus drinks, enjoyed hot or cold. It also contains natural antioxidant compounds, including the anthocyanins responsible for its beautiful red colour. To save seeds for planting, we leave some capsules on the parent plant until they mature and dry, then collect the seeds for the next season. A warmth-loving plant that grew through our summer and rewarded us as the weather became milder.
