as a homeowner i can testify that these clog removers can eat away at older pipes and cost money to replace. as a renter you may wanna be careful

you could've gotten some Draino or Liquid Plumber... but, that backup is because people keep pouring grease down the drain when you should be putting it in your trash after it's cooled

The tenant before was putting grease in the sink. There is a long list of things that shouldn't go down the drain from Grease, eggshells, coffee grounds, flower, ect. It's not good for the plumbing.

I think that this is the result of user error. If you use the strain stopper, then you will not have an issue with your drains.

u shouldn't put food in this drain. make sure u are putting the food in the garbage. that's why it clogs. do u have another side to the sink?

Same thing happened to me. It was the grease trap that was packed full from previous tenants. Make sure you never pour grease down your drain 😩

Baking soda, a cpl squirts of dawn, a bunch of white vinegar. While that's bubbling away boil water then dump it down the drain. It's safe and after the vinegar is gone it smells so much better.

untwist the pipes under the sink. girl I can not fix things but mine untwisted by hand and it was full of grease. I cleaned it out and I've never had the issue again. I avoid maintenance to.

In ya because it contains lye… That’s why it gets hot. And the bubbling is how lye reacts when it hits water. It’s highly corrosive and eats through whatever is clogging the pipes. You can buy cheaper lye at Walmart to do the same thing 😉
