My dad retired from the Marine Corps in 1982 (28 years) in 1995 when I married, Daddy and I were marching in step down the aisle. They don’t forget how to march.

I told my husband one of two things happened there. Either those aren’t soldiers or they wanted their lack of enthusiasm to be very clear. I have seen men I know for a fact probably weren’t sober yet from the night before move perfectly through formations.

Yup walking in step is definitely second nature. I’ve been out for 8 years now and still walk it step with the person next to me and don’t even realize it until someone says something 😭
